Prayer

As Christians we strongly believe in the power of prayer and equally strongly believe The Aberdeen Passion needs people praying for it. If you are able to give any time, no matter how little, in your week to spend praying for The Aberdeen Passion we would extremely grateful and humbled.

To help with this we have created this page where we'll be posting a number of different prayer requests over the course of the coming months.

 

Virtual Prayer Times

We're pleased to announce the launch of The Aberdeen Passion "virtual prayer times"!

We're asking you to please take a bit of time to hold The Aberdeen Passion up in prayer before the Lord each Wednesday between 8pm and 8.30pm. Doesn't have to be for the whole time, a single prayer carries mighty weight in the heavens! We've chosen this time deliberately as the various rehearsals will be in full swing during these times.

Thank you to all who currently uphold the project in their prayers and ask the Lord's blessing on you all.

 

Prayer Points

March Update

  • Many thanks for the amazing response to the "Made with Passion!" cook book
  • Give thanks that we now have a full cast, crew and costume team
  • Give tThanks for great progress made at rehearsals
  • Pray for final work on the set including a safe solution for the crucifixion scene
  • Pray for continued progress with ticket sales – so encouraging to hear stories about bus loads of people coming from Fraserburgh, Peterhead, Perth etc.
  •  Pray for rehearsals and preparations for choir, band and actors together.
  • Pray for the health and safety of all involved as we count down the final days to the opening night.

November Update

  • The "Made with Passion!" cookbook - prayer this will be a success with many contributing towards it and purchasing copies when produced.
  • Tickets are now on sale - please pray that these will be sold in reasonable time and that the right people will come along to see the performances.
  • With such a punishing timescale please pray for the health of all those invovled. There will be a break from rehearsals over Christmas and so please pray for a good rest for those performing and a refreshed return to the serious work of rehearsals in January.
  • There are still some speaking and non-speaking parts to be filled. Please pray for the right people to come forward to take these on.
  • We're also looking for people to help with costumes. Please pray that these people will be found.

September Update

  • Marketing and publicity is getting into full swing this month. Please pray for the team as they work on ideas and bring them to fruition.
  • We're still looking for cast and choir members. Please pray that the right people will be found.
  • Rehearsals are going well, please pray for continued unity and focus.
  • The steering group have an enormous task list! Please pray for strength and well-being.

August Update

  • The band, choir and acting auditions as the happen this month and into the start of September.
  • The principal cast rehearsals that have already begun with some of the key cast roles that have been filled.
  • The steering group as we try to manage the production alongside our busy lives.
  • The marketing and publicity - that it acheives its aim of reaching out to let as many people know as possible.
  • The finances - putting on a production of this size at the AECC is not cheap by anyone's standard. Please pray that enough tickets will be sold to cover the costs and that cash flow will not become an issue.
